This reads like a joyful jaunt with colourful characters, playful puns, and aliterations abound. Playing off of pop culture, nerdisms, and hinting at parodying other fantastical works, it’s sure to illicit a giggle or two as the pages turn.
Each of the characters is markedly unique with their own foibles and folly, and by the end of their tale, have distinctly grown.
With various perspectives to experience a “coming of age” from, there is a plethora of relatable characters with genuine truths, however silly they may appear.
It reads a lot like a 9-12-age fantasy with PG13 puns peppered in, and a few pinches of violence, but always with a gnomely wink and a playful nudge.
