Picking up the momentum where Time of Contempt left off, be prepared to get scooped up into another sweeping adventure with the Witcher. The pacing and anticipation keep you latched in for an engrossing ride, while still allowing you to enjoy the adventure along the road.

With the introduction of interesting new characters comes dynamic new conflict within the travelling band. Milva, a daring young archer, has more going on than her daring bravado, and Regis is far more than he lets on. Perhaps too much more than the Witcher can allow…

Despite the change of pace in the second last chapter, and the new perspective for story-telling for the denouement, it was a terrific read, akin to many of Salvatore’s hits.
